Since her time in the Your Shot competition, Clueless has played all over Australia, locked in numerous residencies throughout Sydney and has supported some of the biggest names in the music industry including a recent show with Dillon Francis!
How would you best describe your music style? Has it changed much since your time at Your Shot?
All things housey! I play lots of vocal house, tech house and tracks with funky basslines. It couldn’t be more different from what we played at Your Shot – I used to be in a duo and I’m pretty sure we played a commercial EDM set haha.
Of course there were many years of hard work to get you to this point. What are some of your favourite memories from early gigs post Your Shot?
There are so many – the first gig we ever played in a club The Stafford Brothers actually happened to be behind the booth watching us – it was terrifying! Early gigs post Your Shot I’d have to say some of my best memories would be supporting some of my biggest idols, the first headline set I ever played and the first time I got flown to a gig!
What are some vital lessons you have learnt so far?
Do your own thing, work hard, appreciate even the smallest of opportunities, set goals and be aware that there is always so much more to learn! (And always have more than 1 USB on you!!)
Music is such a huge part of who you are. What inspired you to start DJing/producing?
There is literally nothing better than making people happy through music. I wanted to have the ability to do that and I’m so lucky to do that every weekend and call this a job.
Can you tell us one interesting fact most people wouldn’t know about you?
My hair is naturally pink 😉 Just kidding haha but I’ve had pink hair for 3 and a half years now!
What’s the craziest thing you’ve witnessed while playing at a gig?
I was playing an outdoor set in 10 degree weather and torrential rain. I rocked up expecting it to be a struggle but arrived to an almost capacity venue. Every single person in the crowd was drenched but the vibe was insane, lots of stage diving and crowd surfing- they 100% turned the f*ck up.
What do the next few months have in store for Clueless?
I have a whole heap of shows locally and interstate, working hard on some production and some super exciting things happening that I can’t really tell you guys about yet! 😉
What would you be doing if you weren’t DJing?
I’m currently doing an events degree at Uni so I’d be doing that full time and probably working as a bartender! (Not as exciting as being a DJ)
What is one piece of advice you would give someone thinking of registering for Your Shot?
DO IT!!! Don’t hesitate, sign up, go to the interview day! It’s easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made- you never know where it may take you!
