Thousands of young Australians across the country have applied to live out their dreams and swap their bedroom for the festival main stage. Twelves years on, over 10,500 contestants have made the journey, with 61% now holding residencies and performing regular gigs.
2010 saw the conception of a revolutionary style of DJ competition. Unlike anything to come before it, Your Shot offered Aussies a shot at the big time – to become DJ’s capable of playing at the best clubs and festivals all over the world and the best part...
No DJ experience is necessary to enter and full DJ training is provided.
Your Shot will give 100+ aspiring DJs from each state the opportunity to get their shot. Each contestant will receive 6 weeks of full DJ training at The Academy in their state, where they’ll learn all the fundamentals of DJing and put together their first ever DJ set. Following their training, each contestant will perform for the very first time at a sold out, two day Your Shot event in their state.
The Your Shot event will showcase some of the top national and international headline DJ’s, as well as the best up-and-coming local talent. With around the clock sets from all the DJ hopefuls, each contestant will give it their all for the chance in taking home the title of Your Shot champion, along with a host of life-changing prizes.
The winners of each state will score themselves a set at one of the biggest international music festivals around the world.
